DVD Player can not connect to a TV.
For the recorder, the output of the set-top at the entrance to the DVD recorder and DVD recorder output to the TV.

A DVD recorder can be connected to a TV with at least one set of AV inputs (you need an RF modulator if your TV has no AV input).
Only the power cable or antenna ANT / Cable input on the DVD recorder and a loop on the RF input on the TV.

Also you need the DVD recorder to the AV inputs (composite, S-Video, component or HDMI) to TV for DVD playback. Note: Although DVD recorders an RF loop through the television, which is passive when playing a DVD, you have the AV input of TV use, or buy an RF modulator to put between the ice, DVD and TV to convert the recorded signal.
